Krista + Chris | Penn State University Engagement

Being from Pittsburgh, it's par for the course that approximately 50% of the people you know went, or have friends/family who went, to Penn State.  And let me say as lovingly as I can: these people are different (in all of the best ways possible). They have a school spirit that many of the rest of us will never quite understand. The kind of school spirit that drives up from Maryland for every home game because even though they live out of state, they're still season ticket holders, and since when should that stop anybody? Krista & Chris met at Penn State, fell in love at Penn State, and got engaged at Penn State, making it the obvious location choice for their engagement portraits.

Nicole + Adam | Charlottesville, VA Wedding

They say that a person's sense of smell has the strongest link to memory, but I don’t buy it. Music, that pure hearing and participation in it, can flood the body with memories so rich and raw that no other sense can compete.

Nicole & Adam celebrated music at their wedding.  Built on an incredible cornerstone of faith, music is one of the most important parts of their relationship. They met each other their first year at the University of Virginia because the incredible group, the University Singers, brought them together to create music. Which, incidentally, is where I met them too.

Kyla + Jeff | Pittsburgh Engagement Session

Kyla & Jeff started their transcontinental love a few years ago, surviving moves from Pittsburgh, to Canada, to Arizona, and back. I hope you all enjoy this engagement session as much as I did-- it's one of my favorites!

Julia + Matt | Carnegie Museum Wedding

"La famiglia!"

That's what Julia said when I asked her to name the most important part of her wedding day.

Family.

It is a theme that Julia & Matt incorporated into every single part of their wedding: from nieces and nephews in the bridal party to Julia's mother officiating their gorgeous Carnegie Museum ceremony, to a glorious outdoor reception in Schenley Plaza (complete with carousel!), Julia & Matt wanted to make sure their family had the time of their lives. There were children everywhere. Literally EVERYWHERE. And it made for the most epic dance-party of all time. There is truly nothing like the carefree move-busting of a 3-year-old to make everyone cut loose. See pictures below for evidence.

Alexandra & Rob | Renshaw Farms Wedding

It was a dark and stormy night....well, afternoon. But still dark and stormy. And absolutely perfect--because it was Alex & Rob's wedding day! Despite the disappointment of having to move the ceremony inside at Renshaw Farms, the sun broke through the rain for a few shots and we ended the night with the ever-popular sparkler celebration. It was an absolutely joyful day!
