It’s a gift to document people on the best days of their lives— and to see how their definition of “best” grows and evolves over time.

Best doesn’t necessarily mean their most glamorous; although it can. Asia and Drew’s wedding day was pretty spectacular, after all. Asia was one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen (and Drew, one of the most handsome grooms, of course!). It was an amazing day filled with the joyous celebration of friends and family.

But not every best day comes with the pomp and fanfare of ball gowns and bow ties. Sometimes, the very BEST days, are the most subdued. They are intimate, fragile. Precious.

Like this day. At home, quietly treasuring the time when two became three. It’s a new definition of “best,” when best also starts to mean “hardest and most intimidating…and single most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

It’s my favorite kind of best.
